This waist beads strand is inspired by The Sapphire Tower (Puya Alpestris), a very rare flower, a plant that grows to the statuesque height of 3-4 feet. In Spring, but usually not every year, she appears with turquoise blue-green flowers with vivid orange stamens, with recurving leaves that grow up to 2 feet...She is a succulent; the word comes from the Latin word sucus, meaning 'juice', or 'sap'. These are plants with parts that are thickened, fleshy, and engorged, usually to retain water in climates that receive little rain or are too barren to support vegetation. But still, she comes through... against all obstacles, she stands tall, strong and voluptuous! Like the Black woman. Yes, we may have our bad days when we don't want to come out into view. At times, we may be down, but there is NOTHING that can keep us down! Through all obstacles, we find a way to STAND, OVERCOME and EXPOSE that black girl magic for all to see and admire! COME THRU, my sisters! This ones for YOU! ✊🏾
